Allison believes in meeting people where they are at and taking them where they want to go. She believes in providing a trusting, and intimate experience where clients feel free to open up and share freely. Allison takes a nonjudgmental approach with therapy and believes mental health symptoms may surface when people experience an adverse event or events. Allison believes in exploring family-of- origin relationships and patterns. She likes to explore how they impact past and current relationships. Allison is eager to hear your life story and believes everyone is unique and capable of change.
Allison’s professional experience includes three years of in-home therapy serving children, adolescents, and families from various ethnic, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds. She has provided individual, family, group, and couple’s therapy. Allison has a variety of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and families in residential settings at St. Joseph’s Home for Children and Hazelden Foundation. She has experience working with individuals and families who struggle with alcoholism and addiction.
Allison has a Master’s degree from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She has training with children and adolescents in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
