Amy Spivey – MA, LMFT

Clinical Manager

Amy is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has provided services at the Lorenz Clinic since 2019.

Amy serves couples, families, and adolescent and adult individuals to explore their relationships with themselves, each other, and their world. She is passionate about helping others through major life transitions (becoming an adult, early parenthood, etc.), providing couples therapy, and processing intergenerational trauma. Within the therapy room, Amy utilizes general systems, attachment-based, emotion-focused, interpersonal, and strength-based models to conceptualize therapy.

The past experiences Amy brings to her work include suicide intervention and prevention, admissions counseling at a chemical dependency and mental health treatment center, childhood development and parent education. Amy earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Science at North Dakota State University, and her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of St. Thomas.
