Andrew Dahlen – MA, LAMFT
He holds a Master’s degree from St. Thomas University in Counseling Psychology with a Marriage and Family Therapy concentration. He has experience providing in-home therapeutic services to individuals and groups with a wide range of clinical diagnoses, ethnic backgrounds, socioeconomic levels, and ages. Andrew also has clinical experience in a day treatment setting working with adult males and their caregiver systems.
Andy believes that effective therapeutic work is built upon a foundation of strong rapport between client and therapist, allowing for trust, self-disclosure, and mutual respect. He works hard to create an environment where clients can feel safe discussing painful moments and old wounds, as well as celebrate their successes and achievements.
Andy draws from several approaches when working with clients, integrating Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Experiential Therapy, and Narrative Therapy into his practice. He enjoys working within a strengths-based framework, facilitating a space for clients to realize the positive qualities and skills they already possess as they work towards their goals.
