Dr. Cynthia Huntimer – MD, MPH

Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist

Cynthia M. Huntimer, MD, MPH (known as Dr. H to kids and families) completed her undergraduate work (B.S. in Medical Technology), Doctor of Medicine, General Psychiatry residency, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at the University of South Dakota and Sanford School of Medicine. She completed a Pediatric internship and Masters of Public Health (in Maternal and Child Health) at the University of Minnesota, and a Postdoctoral NIMH-sponsored fellowship (Psychosocial Factors in Mental Health and Illness) at the University of Michigan. Dr. Huntimer has served children and families in diverse settings over the decades including on the Pine Ridge reservation in South Dakota, two inpatient State Hospitals, private practice, community mental health centers, a community medical center, a specialty childrens hospital, multiple residential settings, and through Telepsychiatry.  Dr. Huntimer is certified in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is fully licensed in the State of Minnesota and will be providing Telepsychiatry medication management services to children between the ages of 5 and 17 y/o (4 y/o with a referral by the primary care provider).  Dr. Huntimer is conservative in her approach to medication use, refers children and families for individual and family therapy for many symptom presentations, and utilizes pharmacogenomic testing to provide children with a personalized medication approach. Dr. Huntimer is excited to join Lorenz Clinic and looks forward to providing care for your child.
