Dr. Jo Quanbeck – Ph.D.
Dr. Quanbeck utilizes a collaborative, relational approach in her work with adults, couples, and adolescents. She aims to recognize and support the strengths and resources each person brings, while creating a safe, trusting environment in which to together explore difficulties and navigate steps for positive change.
Areas of professional experience include working with individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, family and relationship concerns, and identity development. She also brings particular interest and experience in working with issues of grief, loss, and transition—including cultural transition, relocation, health concerns, bereavement, and aging.
An interest in resilience, culture, and narrative brought her to the counseling field. She views therapy from a holistic approach—mind, body, and spirit—that also recognizes broader cultural contexts that inform a person’s experience. She has provided individual and group therapy in diverse college/university counseling centers and gained additional training experience in various settings, including a community-based clinic and a career counseling and assessment program. She enjoys contributing to therapist training through teaching and supervision.
