Dr. Jo Quanbeck – Ph.D.
Dr. Quanbeck primarily provides individual therapy to adults. She takes a relationally oriented, strengths-based, and collaborative approach to therapy. She utilizes an integrative interpersonal approach within a multicultural framework, and at times draws upon mindfulness-based perspectives in her work.
Areas of professional interest and experience include working with clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, family and relationship concerns, grief and loss, identity development, and life transitions, including issues of cultural transition and adjustment. She has provided individual and group therapy in diverse college/university counseling centers, and additional training experience includes community counseling, career-related assessment and counseling, and academic skills coaching. She also enjoys contributing to therapist training and supervision.
Dr. Quanbeck earned a bachelor’s degree in English at Luther College in Decorah, IA, and an MA and Ph.D. in counseling psychology at the University of Minnesota.
