Katelyn Schwartz – MA
Katelyn graduated the University of Minnesota Duluth with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She attended the University of St. Thomas to obtain her master’s degree in counseling psychology and graduated in May 2017. Katelyn has experience providing individual therapy working with children, adolescents, and families from various religious, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. She has been working with the Minneapolis Health Department in the school-based clinics for her practicum since August 2016.
Katelyn is passionate about helping clients develop insight and self-awareness so they can improve their overall wellbeing. She strongly believes in creating a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship that can help facilitate growth for the client. Katelyn utilizes an integrative, non-judgmental approach to psychotherapy focusing on the collaboration of the counselor and the client. Katelyn is interested in existential therapy, person-centered therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and narrative therapy.
