Andrew (he/him) is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) in Minnesota. In 2015, Andrew completed his masters degree at University of Minnesota Duluth. He earned his Chemical Dependency certificate at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College in 2016. Additionally, in 2009 he graduated St. Cloud State University with a BA in Psychology and BS in Community Psychology.
Andrew works with individuals 13+ and has experience working with people on a variety of challenges. Some of those issues can include Bipolar Disorders, Depression, SMI/SPMI, mood and anxiety-related disorders, substance abuse/addiction behavior operating within systematic oppression with diverse identity, race, culture, sexual orientation and spirituality, domestic violence, relationship boundaries, codependency, trauma relapses, grief/loss, managing chronic illness, adjustment disorders, and life transitions.
As a mental health professional, Andrew aims to convey there is always hope within for growth and healing. He believes everyone has the power to change, picking up pieces and finding the best of themselves. Andrew listens closely to his client’s narrative patterns, stories, and perspectives. He enjoys helping clients grow, experience moments of clarity, and gain insight. He strives to focus on what works well with each individual when clients have difficulty recognizing skills and talents. In his work, Andrew uses a multifaceted skill set. Some approaches he uses include; strengths-based therapy, DBT skill building, cognitive behavioral therapy, chemical and behavior addiction, existentialism, ecological systems and family systems, culturally sensitive approaches and solution-focused therapy.
