Christy Jones – PSY.D.

Post Doctoral Fellow

Christy (she/her/hers) is a postdoctoral fellow with Lorenz Clinic, having graduated with her Psy.D. from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology at National Louis University in Chicago, IL in June of 2023. As a clinician, Christy provides extensive forms of quality services for her clients, such as intake interviews, a full range of psychological assessment/diagnostic services, individual psychotherapy, and therapy for families and couples.

As a practitioner, Christy strives to be a culturally proficient clinician and she specializes in diagnosing and treating clients who are feeling vulnerable and oppressed. She deeply understands the impact that feeling at risk can have on her clients and is trained to diagnose and treat such symptoms like depression, anxiety, and difficulties with adjusting to new situations.Christy is very equipped to work with adolescents in their identity development as well as with couples and families who may benefit from learning to coexist more peacefully together.

While working with clients, Christy utilizes a client-centered perspective, respecting the expertise her clients have with their own realities. She possesses an affinity for working with her clients in a holistic manner, and in doing so, she recognizes the personhood of those she is working with, in part by examining the multiple systems her clients are a part of and the impact that each has on their identity. It is important to her that she develops a strong professional alliance with her clients by facilitating a welcoming, accepting, and validating space where her clients develop better clarity of who they are while feeling understood and supported.
