David Lynum – MA

Post-Master's Fellow

David Lynum, M.A. (he/him) is a Post Master’s Fellow at the Lorenz Clinic who recently graduated from the Counseling Education program at the University of Minnesota. Before obtaining his Master’s degree, David received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Gustavus Adolphus College. His past experiences include working with children, adolescents, and adults, providing direct support to build meaningful relationships.

David has experience supporting individuals with anxiety and depression symptoms, transitional and developmental stressors, school and occupational issues, and developmental concerns.

While working with clients, David uses an integrated approach to best suit the individuals he works with and places importance on the client being the expert of their own life. In pursuit of collaboration, David strives to form therapeutic environments where clients feel comfortable to share their authentic selves to enact change, self-empowerment, and acceptance. David emphasizes supportive exploration to identify and work towards personal goals, values, and aspirations. His interests include child and adult development, strength-based care, and the practice of inclusive and culturally responsive approaches that foster growth.
