Dr. Sattler enjoys working with adults from all walks of life. He understands that clients come to therapy with complex life stories containing joy and pain, passions and vulnerabilities, as well as hopes and dreams for the future. He invests a great deal of care in establishing an atmosphere in which clients feel accepted, valued, and empowered to learn new ways of approaching life. He believes that optimal growth requires one to leave their comfort zone, and he works closely with clients to build the skills necessary to take on this meaningful and important work. He strives to strike a balance between providing his clients with essential warmth and acceptance, while appropriately challenging them to meet their full potential.
As a generalist, Dr. Sattler has expertise in treating a wide variety of common mental health concerns in adults including anxiety, stress, depression, grief, trauma, substance misuse, chronic health issues, and sleep difficulties. He also enjoys working with clients hoping to improve their relationships, manage difficult life transitions, and work toward a greater sense of meaning in life. He enjoys providing both long and short term individual therapy. His practice is rooted in science and he applies evidence-based therapeutic principles to meet the unique needs of each individual client. He has a strong foundation in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as well as Cognitive Behavior Therapy more broadly.
Dr. Sattler works with his clients exclusively via video-based telehealth. Having provided psychotherapy via telehealth for several years, he is passionate about leveraging technology to enable clients to access high-quality therapy without needing to travel to a brick and mortar clinic. He welcomes clients who are new to video-based therapy and/or new to therapy in general.
