Dr. Ellen Honsa – Psy.D.
Postdoctoral Fellow
Dr. Honsa (She/Her) is a Post-Doctoral Fellow who earned her doctoral degree from Nova Southeastern University. Her history includes providing services within community mental health, hospitals, and more specialized settings (e.g., trauma centers, reunification services). With vast experience in both therapy and psychological testing, Dr. Honsa can provide an in-depth look at mental health challenges in order to best guide therapeutic treatment. She offers a wide array of support for individuals, families, and couples. She specializes in young children through emerging adulthood (age 5-35); however, she is open to clients outside of this age range if determined that it would be a good fit for all parties involved. Given that Dr. Honsa works with a diverse set of individuals, she has extensive experience treating anxiety, depression, trauma, reunification, low self-esteem, relationship conflicts, family issues, chronic pain, medical management, healthy lifestyle changes, inattention, grief, anger/oppositionality, and many other presenting problems. She maintains a strong sense of inclusivity, including gender-affirming and culturally sensitive care, with all clients.
Dr. Honsa utilizes an integrativeĀ approach, incorporating skills and techniques from various therapeutic interventions. The blend of multiple approaches allows her to shift her style and sessions to best fit the needs and goals of the client. Consequently, whether you are focused on yourself or your role as a parent, family member, or partner, it is Dr. Honsa’sĀ goal to help you feel empowered in your daily life. She works to help you develop a healthier relationship with yourself and others.
