Dr. Ryan Wohlman – PsyD, LP
Dr. Wohlman enjoys establishing healthy therapeutic relationships while moving towards the noble quest of “getting better at feeling” rather than focusing solely on feeling better. He also enjoys being able to bring in his unique personality, that includes a fair dose of humor, while working with his clients.
His passion for helping others stems from a long history of human service work. Prior to becoming a Psychologist, Dr. Wohlman worked in the mental health field for several years – providing services in various detox centers and inpatient mental health units as a behavioral health technician.
Dr. Wohlman received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota and obtained his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology – Argosy University. In addition, he is a Nationally Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Clinician and has also been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing treatment.
He has experience treating depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, SPMI, personality disorders, phobias, PTSD/trauma, attachment concerns, grief/loss, cyber addictions, substance use addictions, and working with the LGBTQ+ community.
Dr. Wohlman considers himself a solution oriented counselor. After meeting with clients, he aims to create goals that help clients get closer to the life they are hoping for while also helping build mastery in the skills that will get them closer to where they want to be. He also knows the importance in providing a safe, nurturing, and nonjudgmental place to be able to discuss hardships from the past and present.
With a strong value in helping others, Dr. Wohlman believes in providing support for the mind as part of finding overall wellness.
