Dr. Tessa Stapelmann – Psy.D., MS
Dr. Tessa Stapelmann is a clinical psychology Postdoctoral Fellow who focuses on providing children, adolescents, and adults a therapeutic relationship that is responsive to their needs. Within the context of a supportive, empathic and accepting relationship, individuals can gain the insight, understanding, and self-awareness that are the building blocks to change. She values allowing individuals, especially children and adolescents, the therapeutic space to explore who they are and who their authentic self might be.
Dr. Stapelmann has experience working with children and adolescents through play therapy as well as treating trauma, depression, non-suicidal self-injury, interpersonal difficulties, grief, and anxiety. She utilizes a relational psychodynamic approach that is emotion-focused and trauma-informed.
