Dr. Yasmine Moideen – PhD, LP
Outpatient Program Manager
Yasmine Moideen is a licensed psychologist and has worked in many settings including hospitals, community mental health centers, schools, college counseling centers, and private practice.
She earned her PhD in Clinical Child Psychology from DePaul University and completed her clinical training at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota.
She specializes in child psychology and has been in practice over 20 years. In addition, Yasmine loves working with adults in individual therapy. Her approach to therapy includes delving into one’s history for the sake of gaining a better sense of self, but more importantly, to find more joy and meaning in relationships and work. She has a particular area of interest in helping parents navigate the confusing and, sometimes, stormy world of parenting.
Yasmine has experience treating Disorders of Feeding, Autism, Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, and Behavioral Disorders, while also working with ethnically diverse populations, LGBTQ populations, and working with immigrant populations. Her treatment approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (assessing and changing environmental triggers and thoughts contributing to a problem) and family systems therapy (assessing and changing family dynamics).
As a psychologist, Yasmine has had the privilege to work with people from all walks of life and varied cultures. Good therapy involves change on the part of the client as well as the clinician. Kids teach her about the world through their young eyes, especially with regard to how language and views of gender are shifting as well as the impact of social media.
Outside of the clinic, Yasmine is active in the Minnesota Psychological Association and Multicultural Division and Governing Council.
