Dr. Elizabeth Watts – PsyD
Postdoctoral Fellow
After earning her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Minnesota, Elizabeth moved out to Washington, D.C. to pursue her master’s and doctoral studies at George Washington University. Elizabeth is well-practiced with young children through adults, as well as a wide range of mental health challenges including depression, anxiety, OCD, relationship issues, identity concerns, and healing from traumatic experiences. She has a passion for working with eating and body image concerns, after supporting clients in eating disorder treatment for three years prior to her graduate studies. She also has strong interests in working with groups, families, and couples.
Elizabeth’s approach is integrative and tailored to each unique individual. She incorporates relational psychodynamic frameworks (meaning she sees herself and her client as equal, collaborating partners working towards deeper understanding together), however, she also pulls tools from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness approaches to provide clients with additional structure and coping tools when needed. Elizabeth’s style is warm, compassionate, and humorous, and she values transparency with her clients about her process.
Elizabeth also provides comprehensive psychological assessments for both children and adults.
