Fatinah Abumayaleh – BA

Practicum Student

Fatinah values diversity and the acceptance of all individuals and their identities, and she strives to create a space where clients feel affirmed, supported, and understood with compassion and openness to guide the therapeutic process. Fatinah emphasizes self-reflection and the process of gaining new perspectives on the challenges we face in life. Her clinical interests include working with families, couples, and individuals struggling with transitions in life, identity, anxiety, PTSD, and depression. Fatinah’s approach to therapy is rooted in a deep understanding of human anatomy and development, along with family and community systems.

Fatinah’s therapeutic style integrates systemic insight with body-centered awareness. She likes to use a family systems approach to explore how clients relationships, family history, relational conflict, family dynamics and environment impact their well-being. With mind and body being deeply connected, Fatinah incorporates a somatic approach and mindfulness practices to help clients learn how to regulate their own nervous system as they navigate the struggles of life. The focus in therapy is on practical behavioral change tailored to each unique lifestyle.

Community care drives Fatinah’s work outside of work. She serves on the Augsburg University Alumni Board where she collaborates with others to foster healthier and connected communities. She is a passionate advocate for what it means to be a neurodivergent family, helping to break stigmas and build inclusive spaces.
