Garrett Vollmeneder – MA
Doctoral Intern
Garrett Vollmeneder (he/him) is a doctoral student in Counseling Psychology at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. He approaches mental health as a collaborative journey between therapist and client, emphasizing nonjudgmental exploration and open communication. Garrett helps clients reflect on the life experiences that have shaped them and supports their continued growth toward the mental and emotional well-being they seek.
Garrett has experience working with veterans, individuals facing severe mental health challenges, members of the queer community, older adults, and those with limited mobility. His clinical background includes facilitating dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) groups, substance use recovery groups, and gamified therapy groups that incorporate therapeutic applications of Dungeons & Dragons. He also provides individual support for clients navigating trauma, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and relationship difficulties.
As a queer clinician, Garrett brings a deep respect for identity, autonomy, and privacy into his work. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities and a master’s degree from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.
