Joy Peterson – MSW

Post-Master's Fellow

Joy (she/her/hers) graduated from Thule University of Minnesota’s Masters of Social Work program and has experience working with children and adolescents who come in to find help processing and understanding their big feelings.

During her education and in previous roles, Joy has gained experience treating depression, anxiety, and helping processing trauma. She works with both children and families and has had experience working with adults.

Joy’s preferred approach to therapy is family systems and structural with an underlying use of interpersonal and psychodynamic modalities. She also utilizes Cognitive Behavior Therapy and incorporates a trauma focus lens when working in this approach.
