Kaitlyn Pijanowski – MA, LPCC

Outpatient Program Manager

Kaitlyn (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in Minnesota. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Hamline University and her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of St. Thomas. Her experience includes working in residential, outpatient, and private practice settings and several years providing court-ordered treatment for individuals with histories of problematic sexual behavior.

Kaitlyn enjoys working with adolescents and adults and has experience addressing a wide range of mental health concerns. Her current area of focus includes anxiety, relationship concerns, and life transitions.

In her work, Kaitlyn initially uses a person-centered approach in which clients can move toward greater self-awareness and insight into their difficulties from a space of curiosity, empathy, and nonjudgement. She works alongside the client to explore how underlying beliefs contribute to current struggles while supporting the client with new strategies to achieve their goals and live more authentically. Kaitlyn strongly emphasizes psychoeducation, and works to normalize client emotions and learn ways of coping in the context of their lived experiences.

When working with clients, Kaitlyn tailors her approach depending on the needs of each person. She utilizes Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as well as concepts based in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and strengths-based and holistic approaches.
