Kelsey Madden – BS

Practicum Student

Kelsey (she/her) is a clinical trainee currently pursuing her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at UW Stout. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.

Kelsey enjoys working with all sorts of clients, including children, adults, romantic relationships, and families. Kelsey has experience working with children and their families through her work in early childhood education and as a hotline responder for an intimate partner violence agency. She enjoys working with clients dealing with anxiety, life transitions, relational stressors, and loves learning about each person’s unique story.

In her work with clients, Kelsey values a person-centered approach rooted in cultural humility. She draws inspiration from cognitive and emotion-focused modalities, but tailors her approach to the needs of each client. She views the therapeutic relationship as a collaborative process, with the goal of empowering clients to be the best version of themselves through exploring values and deconstructing unhelpful narratives.

This clinician is supervised by a mental health professional.
