She strives to take a minimal approach to therapy – as minimizing and simplifying encourages clarity and understanding.
Furthermore, she takes a holistic approach, which may include pieces of attachment, strength-based, relational and person-centered theories. Mariam is passionate about empowering clients to carefully examine the accuracy and limitations of their stories. At the end of the day, her work with client’s rests on the foundation of a compassionate therapeutic relationship.
Additionally, Mariam is experienced in the following methods and approaches: Developmental Repair, Greenspan Floortime Approach, Early Start Denver Model, ABA, CBT, mindfulness, and strength-based.
An interesting thing Mariam has learned as a mental health professional is that there is incredible power in getting to “unknow” and relearn yourself.
