Megan Schoonover – BA
Practicum Student
Megan Schoonover (she/her) is currently seeking her master’s degree in marriage and family therapy at Bethel Seminary, and has her undergraduate degree in psychology from Bethel University. Megan has also studied reconciliation studies, which emphasizes a culturally-sensitive approach to conflict resolution and is an important lens for her in the therapy room.
Megan is passionate about working with individuals, couples, and families, and is particularly interested in how people grow in the context of authentic relationships with others. Megan explores with her clients both the underlying reasons for their interpersonal conflicts and the strengths that they can rely on during times of stress. She takes a warm, empathetic and non-judgmental approach with all her clients and loves bringing her optimism and humor into sessions.
Megan is also passionate about the intersection of therapy and spirituality. For clients who would like to approach therapy through a lens of spirituality or process difficult experiences with religion, Megan welcomes her clients to bring their whole selves into the therapy room, as they choose.
