Naa is currently pursuing an MSW with a concentration in clinical mental health at the University of Minnesota. She holds a BA in Psychology and Linguistics from the University of Ghana.
Naa is passionate in the narrative therapy approach as it views individuals as separate from their problems by using a non-blaming approach to problem solving. She also appreciates how the approach recognizes that individuals are the experts in their own lives and with the right kind of support they can overcome the challenges they face.
Naa’s interest in mental health therapy stems from growing up in Ghana and witnessing how mental health stereotypes prevented people from seeking professional help. Knowing everyone can experience mental health challenges, Naa is interested in changing the narrative around mental health seeking behaviors in general but also specifically in Ghana and among the African immigrant community.
