Oscar Millerhaller – MA

Oscar (he/him) earned his master’s degree in Counseling and Psychological Services from Saint Mary’s University and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Macalester College. Oscar has a passion for supporting individuals through life’s challenges, with experience working at a mental health crisis text line, as well as experience working as an intake coordinator at a mental health clinic.
Oscar has experienced first hand the ways therapy can have a positive impact on individuals, and seeks to improve the lives of others through his work. As a therapist in training, he is especially interested in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and attachment-based approaches. He appreciates CBT’s ability to help clients investigate and reframe unhelpful thoughts and behaviors and ultimately change their perspectives on specific issues. He also sees usefulness in exploring how attachment styles shape our relationships and overall well-being.
Oscar values diversity and the acceptance of all individuals and their identities. He strives to create a space where clients feel affirmed, supported, and understood, and where compassion and openness guide the therapeutic process. Oscar emphasizes self-reflection and the process of gaining new perspectives on the challenges we face in life. His clinical interests include working with young adults and individuals struggling with transition, identity, and anxiety. Oscar is excited to continue learning while utilizing his natural empathy and devotion to truly understand the experiences of his clients.
