Patty Skogrand – BS, BA
Practicum Student
Patty is currently pursuing her Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of St. Thomas. In addition, Patty holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of MN-Duluth.
Areas of interest for Patty are couples, families and individuals in all stages of growth and development, teens through those experiencing older age. Patty is passionate about working with those experiencing stress, anxiety, depression or having difficulties coping with personal and/or family issues to overcome barriers and find their unique strengths that allow them to reach their goals. Patty’s background in communication fosters her ability to create a client-centered, collaborative and caring therapeutic relationship while drawing from evidence-based treatments practices such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Narrative Therapy.
