Post Master's Fellow

Rachel Chawla is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) specializing in clinical mental health and is a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. She is passionate about working with individuals, couples, and families. Drawing on her background as a teacher, race and belonging facilitator, and community practitioner, she pays close attention to what a client is experiencing as well as the people and circumstances shaping that experience.

Rachel works with adults and children navigating depression, anxiety, ADHD, the effects of difficult life experiences, relationship challenges, questions of identity and belonging, life transitions, and grief. She has particular experience working with adolescents, young adults, and individuals from historically resilient communities, including Native Americans, first and second generation immigrants to the United States, and LGBTQIA2S+ individuals.

Guided by research on the importance of relationship to increase wellness and promote meaningful growth, Rachel seeks to establish effective and supportive alliances with her clients. She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other strengths-based approaches to help clients explore healthy coping skills and manage difficult emotions. Rachel meets clients where they are, with warmth, curiosity, and practical support for the changes that matter most to them.
