Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Sarah holds a Master’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Virginia and a B.A. in Psychology from West Virginia University Institute of Technology. She also completed a 2-year certificate in psychoanalytic psychotherapy from Minnesota Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis.
Certified as a Family Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with the American Nurses Credentialing Center, Sarah specializes in psychiatric medication management for children, adolescents, and adults.
She has experience treating a wide variety of mental health concerns, including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, PTSD, and OCD.
Sarah’s training and approach to psychotherapy is based on contemporary psychodynamic theory. She provides individualized treatment plans to her clients that consists of a combination of both medication management along with regular psychotherapy.
Sarah finds the importance of good communication while working with her clients and strives to communicate through an understandable, compassionate, and respectful manner.
Sarah loves watching individuals experience growth and change, not just from medication management, but from the work they invest in psychotherapy, and bringing about positive changes for themselves.
