Sonya Witmer – MA

Sonya is an outpatient therapist who approaches therapeutic work with an emphasis on being with someone in their pain. She uses relational means to build trust and safety in the therapeutic relationship and focuses on helping the other find their voice so they can explore the deep inner life they may not recognize they have. Sonya works with her clients to build resilience and strength in their everyday life and uses Object Relations to help them identify their own internal objects and how these manifest in current relationships. Her clinical focus interests include child and adolescent mental health, trauma and abuse care, anxiety disorders, and religious trauma.
Sonya has a master’s degree in counseling psychology with an emphasis in British object relations from The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology. Her undergraduate degree was completed at Bethlehem College & Seminary with a focus on Literature and Philosophy.
