Sydney Howell is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who received her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Appalachian State University in North Carolina, and her Bachelor’s Degree in Family Social Science from the University of MN: Twin Cities. Sydney has 8 years of experience as a clinician, and has worked in numerous mental health settings, including day treatment, residential, community-based, and outpatient mental health. Sydney has experience working with neurodivergence (such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder), anxiety and adjustment disorders, complex family systems, parenting difficulties, life transitions, and relational concerns. Sydney enjoys building relationships with individuals and families across the lifespan, including children/adolescents (and their parents/guardians), and adults. Sydney utilizes an integrative approach to therapy that addresses both the individual and their environment. Her work is greatly influenced by social justice, equity, and inclusion. Sydney bases her interactions with clients on warmth, positivity, humor, and direct communication. Her work with clients is collaborative and strengths-based, with a focus on Attachment Theory and Systems Theory.
