Emma Cavanaugh-Johnson – BA

Mental Health Practitioner

Emma is currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Applied Child Development: Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health, and plans on pursuing her LPCC license post graduation. Prior to this, she graduated with a BA from Winona State University, studying writing and theatre.

Emma is certified as an Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-up (ABC) Parent Coach, and uses this training to inform her practice through an attachment theory lens. She also has formal training as a Montessori guide, and has five years of experience as an early childhood classroom teacher. She is certified in Zero to Three’s Diagnostic Classification of Mental Health and Developmental Disorders of Infancy and Early Childhood (DC:0-5).

Emma holds a strong belief in child and caregiver resiliency, and uses a strengths-based approach when working with children and families. Her work is informed by neurobiological theory and a developmental perspective.
