OUR SERVICES

Early Childhood Day Treatment

Help children reach their fullest potential so they can live, learn, and play in the community with our Early Childhood Day Treatment program. Our relational therapy approach is specifically designed to reduce challenging behaviors and improve functioning, setting them up for success at a critical stage of their development.

Every parent’s and caregivers’ worst nightmare is having their child labeled negatively by an individual or society.

Oftentimes toddlers, preschoolers, and kindergartners who have experienced trauma display big behaviors that are difficult for caregivers to understand and manage. As a result, children are at greater risk of social isolation.

Every behavior a child displays is an attempt to get a need met. Unfortunately, not all settings are equipped to help littles who have experienced psychological trauma.

About the Program

Lorenz Clinic provides a safe, healthy, and fun environment for kids at our Chaska and Rosemount location, where they’ll experience a combination of group therapy and group skills training.

The program focuses on children from the ages of three to seven, whose behaviors have caused disruption in their daily lives. Often, these children have been removed, or are at risk of being removed from their daycare or preschool settings due to challenging behaviors.

The program is three hours a day, five days a week, and led by highly certified and experienced mental health professionals and practitioners, who are trained to work with children in early childhood. In addition, the program includes a family therapy component for parents and caregivers of children involved in the program.

Our Approach

The staff and providers at Lorenz Clinic are trained to listen to the function of kids’ behaviors and guide kids in the right direction with compassion and care.

Our program is based on the Developmental Repair model, a model used to treat children who have experienced early complex trauma and are displaying aggressive and disruptive behaviors.

Each child will receive a diagnostic assessment and treatment plan specifically tailored to their needs to ensure they can get back on target with developmentally appropriate behavior.
