Abigail Smith – MSW, LICSW

Day Treatment Lead

Abbey (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Minnesota. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from St. Olaf College and her Master’s in Social Work from the University of St. Thomas. Abbey works in group therapy, individual therapy, and family therapy with children, adolescents, and young adults, and is a Minnesota Board of Social Work Approved Supervisor. Outside of work, Abbey has a passion for coaching volleyball, softball, and hockey.

In clinic, Abbey works with clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, family stressors, grief and loss, identity curiosities, school stressors, peer difficulties, impulsivity, irritability, anger, suicidal ideation, and behavioral difficulties.

When in therapy, Abbey believes in working with clients at their own pace. Abbey addresses therapy with an open, strengths-based perspective through creating a safe environment with empathy, compassionate listening, and curiosity in helping individuals and families explore thoughts, emotions, and communication to help foster the change desired.
