Josie Peterson – MS

Post-Master's Fellow

Josie (she/her) received her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Memphis and her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

Josie’s past experiences include college settings, intensive outpatient/partial hospitalization, and residential facilities. Within these environments, she was able to gain insight in working with a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, adjustment, trauma, interpersonal conflict, and identity development in adults. Josie has a special interest in working with college students, emerging adults, and the LGBTQ+ population.

In her work with clients, Josie takes a skills-based approach while prioritizing the client’s unique perspective and experiences. She strives to create a safe and genuine environment where she can join with clients in reaching goals and creating change. Josie pulls from different theoretical frameworks to best suit the client’s needs, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness based practices.
