Kelly Kivel – MS, LPCC

Mental Health Professional

Kelly (She/Her) is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology as well as her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, both at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. During her master’s program, she completed a concentration in working with children and adolescents.

With more than ten years of experience, Kelly has worked with children, families, and adults in multiple settings including outpatient, residential, community based, and within the home. A significant amount of Kelly’s work has been in joining with these populations (recognizing they are the expert) in working through complex trauma, relational conflicts/disruptions, parenting, anxiety, low self-esteem/shame, substance use disorders, behavioral issues, and depression in the journey of post-traumatic healing, recovery, and growth.

When working with clients, Kelly strives to create a safe and reflective space by utilizing person centered, system-based, attachment focused, trauma aware and developmentally informed approaches while striving to keep families, communities, and systems in connection with one another. Kelly whole-heartedly believes we are all worthy and many times the presenting symptoms/behaviors are a clue to the bigger story needing to be addressed. By focusing on meaning, connection, value, and purpose clients can unlock and rewrite the story to build confidence for hope and success in the future.
