Intensive Outpatient Programs
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are designed to offer professional and peer support for clients and their families in a group setting. IOP groups meet four days each week. Groups last an average of 6-weeks and can run up to 12-weeks and are available for children through young adults (ages 8-20).
About Intensive Outpatient Programs
IOPs benefit clients who are struggling to see progress in outpatient psychotherapy. On average, an IOP runs approximately 6 weeks but can last up to 12 weeks dependent on the group and focus. This program is designed with the whole picture in mind, offering therapy and peer support for both the client and their families. The goal is to help benefit the client while creating a community of support for the client’s family and loved ones.
Interested parties should call to schedule an appointment at 952-443-4600. Clients will be scheduled with an intake appointment to determine if IOP is the right level of care. The clinic will work with potential clients to determine insurance eligibility and scheduling.

Refer NowWhy Lorenz Clinic’s IOP
The program’s purpose will be to treat problems, not just symptoms. The clinic’s systemic focus will differentiate this program from others in the area in that the IOP will feature concurrent parent/family education, family therapy, and robust, eco-systemic discharge and step-down planning. There will be close integration between the IOP and the Clinic’s other services including psychiatry, psychological testing, and outpatient psychotherapy.
Lorenz Clinic is also highly collaborative with referring partners and works closely with them to better support clients. Should an agency refer to Lorenz, they can expect the opportunity for communication during the intake process. The overall goal is to provide clients with the greatest opportunity to have positive outcomes, avoiding removal from home and long term hospitalization, or other disruptions in their daily lives.

IOP Overview
Growing up is hard enough. Adding struggles with the pandemic, notable political tension, and the increasing pressure placed on children and teens to succeed, and these ailments can add up. While outpatient psychotherapy can positively impact a person’s psyche, IOP can serve as the next step in offering a peer support structure while including the various touch points associated with psychotherapy. Lorenz Clinic’s IOP is unique in that it integrates all of the Clinic’s services while aiming to build an inclusive community for the client’s family and loved ones.
