Desiree Phillips – MA, LPCC
Mental Health Professional
Desiree (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in Minnesota. She received her Master’s Degree in Counseling and Psychological Services from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota and her bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State University.
Desiree’s passion for psychotherapy comes from a deep desire to bear witness to individuals’ strengths and struggles and partner with them to find healing. This passion originated many years ago during a training on intersectionality, a belief that each person has their own unique experiences that can impact us personally and socially.
Desiree believes that healing comes from within and each therapeutic approach involves learning more about self through psycho-education and curiosity. Desiree initially helps to facilitate this by providing a safe place for self-expression and personal growth. She uses her training in complex trauma (a therapy approach to help individuals work through painful experiences) as well as concepts from Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and mindfulness based treatment approaches.
